Hi Cristina-I have a Q about tear sheets. I understand the name comes from work done in mags, etc. that can be "torn" out and put in a model's book, but can they also be photos from a shoot done for ad purposes? For example, Jess did a shoot for a local boutique. The pics are on the shop's website only--there's no catalogue, mailer, etc.--so nothing to "tear." Would these photos be "tears"? Are tears literally mag pages or photos? I'm confused... Thanks :)

Hi, Jes and I met w/ Modelogic. It went well but we have some Qs. Their development program is $$ but they won't sign inexp'd models w/out it. A 2 hr photoshoot w/ T. Wright, hair, makeup, 50 comp cards, 2 hr business class is $1,100. Jes took a 4 hr modeling wkshop at the Evie Mansfield agency in Va Bch. A photoshoot w/ her photog is $360 plus cards. I think she would get more work w/ Modelogic but is it worth the cost? Should we go w/ Evie for now and try to build a portfolio? Help!

Cristina, my daughter Jessica has an appt to meet Jaime at Modelogic for the 1st time. I have a couple of questions. How should she dress/present herself at this meeting? She's 15 and has no experience. Jaime will be explaining the agency and their instruction program. I know they are legit but wonder if they'll expect Jess to sign up for the program. It's a little pricey. Do you have any idea if they sign young models w/out experience if they opt not to sign up?

Hi Cristina, I heard about a meet & greet in the Richmond area this month thru Model Mayhem. Based on some a lot of the model photos (semi-nude) I've seen in the thread who plan to attend, I'm wondering if this is more for adult models rather than teens just starting out? Not judging, just don't want to put Jessica in an inappropriate setting for her age. Are you familiar w/ this type of networking opportunity?

Hi Christina, I was wondering if you could take a look at my daughter Jessica's profile and let me know what you think. Do you think it would be worthwhile to get the online comp card and get her pics to some different agencies via your site?? Also we are getting ready to do some testing with a couple of photographers in our area and I wonder what you think would be some good shots to try and get. ?? Thank you so much, love your site! My 15 yo daughter wants to get into modeling. We sent pics to Evie Mansfield, a legit agency in our area. She is interested but wants my daughter to take her 4 hour workshop. Evie says there are things she needs to learn since she has NO experience. That makes sense. We also sent pics to Modelogic and they would like to see more shots. They offer classes for $1,000. This could get expensive w/ no guarantees. How does an inexperienced model start out w/out classes? What do you suggest?
