About models getting modeling jobs over the internet, you know, that is a scary proposition. I have been doing this for 13 years and…first of all, I don’t know of any reputable clients that search the Internet for models that way. I also don’t know of a lot of modeling agencies that are spending their time searching community sites to get new models, because those new models are coming to them via e-mail and mail submissions and open calls.
Those sites are very scary to me. I put my pictures up there and I got offered a couple of little jobs I did not take because in the end I do not know who this person is. You could get hurt. You don’t even know if you’re going to get paid. It is not worth putting yourself in that kind of compromising situation. You don’t know what you will find when you get there. You know nothing about them. They are just somebody over the Internet. This could be someone that just wants to meet somebody. Unfortunately many girls that want to model are turning to the Internet to market themselves and maybe it works for some. I don’t know. But I don’t think it’s safe. I don’t think it’s safe, and I think it’s scary. I wouldn’t even do it after the amount of experience I have, because I have no way of knowing and checking on a potential client. That’s why reputable agency representation is so important. Your agency will do that for you. Your agency has clients they’ve worked with for years. They do all of the billing. They do all of the networking for you by getting you the jobs, and getting you the castings. They earn that 20% that they make. And that keeps you safe. You know that keeps you safe and that keeps you working. I mean, to date, I have never been put in a compromising situation. And that’s because I have always gone through reputable modeling agencies.
